An American Airlines Boeing 777-200 flying from London to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Glasgow today after a warning light incorrectly indicated that there might be a fire in the cargo HOLD. The flight crew set off fire extinguishers in the cargo bay and dumped the plane’s fuel before landing. A spokesman for American Airlines said that none of the flight’s 191 passengers or 14 crew members were hurt. After passengers deplaned, the cargo HOLD was emptied and inspected.
